An opportunity is available for dedicated paraprofessionals to support students with diverse needs, including those with autism and behavioral challenges, in a dynamic educational environment near Chicago, IL. This contract position runs the entire 2025-2026 school year, beginning in August and ending in May, with interviews commencing the week of June 22.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid PEL (Professional Educator License) or Paraprofessional Certificate required
- Experience supporting students with autism or behavioral needs in school settings is highly preferred
- Comfortable working with a range of ages (from early childhood through young adults, ages 3-21)
- Able to adapt in both classroom aide roles and as an individual aide
- Collaborative spirit and commitment to fostering inclusion and growth for all students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on guidance and support to students with various disabilities across grade levels
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement individualized learning plans
- Assist with daily routines, classroom activities, and behavioral interventions
- Offer compassionate one-on-one support as needed to help students achieve academic and social goals
This full-time position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 32 hours per week, giving you summer flexibility and the chance to see your students thrive over the course of a school year.
