Job Description
Step into a pivotal role supporting students with significant needs at a specialized educational site dedicated to learners requiring intensive special education services. This contract opportunity offers experience across grade levelsfrom elementary through high schoolat an innovative setting where staff make an immediate impact every day.
In this position, you will:
- Provide active assistance and individualized support to students in a Setting 4 environment, where learners receive special education services throughout their school day
- Foster a positive and safe classroom atmosphere, helping students develop academic, behavioral, and life skills
- Collaborate closely with certified teachers, therapists, and fellow support staff to implement tailored learning and behavioral interventions
- Participate in and sometimes lead activities for toileting and personal care needs as part of daily routines
- Contribute to proactive behavior management, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing documentation
- Flexibly serve students spanning elementary to high school age groupslet us know your preferred area if applicable
Qualifications:
- Must be highly qualified by one of the following:
- Passing the MN Para Educator Exam (attach score report)
- Have at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas alone do not suffice)
- Resume and one qualifying document (exam score or transcripts) must be submitted with your application for consideration
- Previous experience with students exhibiting significant behavioral or cognitive needs strongly preferred
- Comfort with all aspects of personal care, including toileting, is essential
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to dynamic and challenging situations
Enjoy a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 32.5 hours per week, with a start in September 2026 and the potential for a direct hire conversion following your contract period. The compensation for this role is $20 per hour.
