Job Description

Qualifications:
- Highly Qualified Paraprofessional status, demonstrated by ONE of the following:
- Passing score on the MN Para Educator Exam (attach results)
- At least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
- Experience working in special education settings, especially with students exhibiting high levels of need
- Comfort and willingness to assist with toileting and personal care
- Flexibility in working with a broad age range (elementary to high school); please note if you have a preferred age group
- Strong skills in behavior management, de-escalation, and positive reinforcement
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Resume and Highly Qualified documentation must be provided for application consideration
Role Responsibilities:
- Support students in academics, social skills, and daily living activities within a Setting 4 program
- Implement individualized education and behavior intervention plans
- Maintain a safe and structured environment, responding appropriately to challenging behaviors
- Assist students with personal care and toileting as needed
- Collaborate closely with teachers, related service staff, and administrative teams
- Foster positive relationships with students and contribute to their growth
This contract runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, at 32.5 hours per week (MondayFriday schedule). After 422 hours, conversion to direct employment is anticipated.
