Summer School Paraprofessional San Francisco, CA
Location: Various school sites across San Francisco
Program Dates: June August 2026 (exact dates vary by site)
Hours: MondayFriday, approximately 8:00 AM 1:00 PM (or full-day depending on site)
Compensation: $26.50 hour
About the Role:
We're looking for paraprofessionals to support summer school classrooms across all grade levels elementary, middle, and high school. You'll work alongside a lead teacher to help students stay on track, reinforce learning, and provide one-on-one or small-group support as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and behavior management
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce lessons
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including IEP accommodations
- Help prepare materials, set up activities, and keep the classroom organized
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that keeps students engaged during the summer
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate's degree or 48+ college credits (preferred, and often required for paraeducator certification)
- Experience working with children or teens in a school, camp, or childcare setting
- Comfort supporting students across multiple grade levels (K12)
- Patience, flexibility, and a proactive attitude
- Bilingual (Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin) a plus, especially in SF schools
