Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) School-Based Position in San Jose, CA
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students within a school setting in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping children succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally through evidence-based interventions and positive support strategies.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 behavioral support to students in classroom and school environments
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) designed by a BCBA or supervising specialist
- Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and progress data
- Support students with communication, social skills, and daily routines
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and families
- Assist in de-escalation and behavior management strategies when needed
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with school policies
Qualifications
- Active RBT certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree preferred
- Experience working with children or individuals with behavioral needs preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a school team environment
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
