Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation license for a Registered Nurse
- School Nurse Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) licensureplease note that this is a must-have credential for consideration
- Previous school nursing or pediatric experience is highly beneficial
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing oversight across the district, ensuring best practices in student health
- Monitor, coordinate, and guide the implementation of health services
- Perform normal CSN duties such as assessing health needs, consulting with staff and families, and managing student health records
- Advise on district policy and compliance with state and federal health regulations
- Serve as a resource to educators and administrators regarding student health plans and protocols
- Promote a safe and healthy learning environment for all students
