Step into a pivotal role supporting student health and wellness as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) on a contract basis for the 2026/2027 school year. In this position, you'll oversee and coordinate nursing services across the entire district, playing a crucial part in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff. Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation License for Registered Nurse (RN)
- School Nurse Professional Educator License (PEL) CSN licensure is required
- Experience providing nursing care and oversight in a K-12 school setting preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with district staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver oversight and leadership for school health services throughout the district
- Conduct assessments, manage student health records, and ensure compliance with district and state health requirements
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, staff, and families regarding health policies and wellness initiatives
- Support the implementation of care plans for students with medical needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support teams as required
- Provide emergency care and training on health protocols to school personnel
