We are seeking a dedicated and qualified School Psychologist to join the Newport News Public School District for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success within a collaborative school environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and assessments
Interpret assessment data and prepare detailed reports
Participate in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings
Collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and related service providers
Provide consultation and recommendations to support student achievement and well-being
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
Qualifications
Active Virginia State School Psychologist certification/licensure required
Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
Previous school-based experience highly preferred
Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
