Key Qualifications:
- Possess a valid GA DOE Sign Language Interpreter License (no HR waivers permitted)
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) within educational settings
- Experience interpreting 1:1 for students in school environments preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and passion for student advocacy
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation between students, staff, and peers during all classroom and related activities
- Ensure accurate and confidential interpretation of spoken language and signed communication
- Support the educational and social development of the assigned student
- Participate in meetings, training, and professional development as required
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, adjusting interpreting techniques to suit individual student needs
This full-time, on-site contract begins August 3rd, 2026, and extends through May 27th, 2027, following the schools schedule. Youll be an integral resource, ensuring access to instruction and engagement in the school community for a student who benefits greatly from your expertise.
