Desired Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
- Applied for Professional Educator License (PEL) or hold an active PEL for interpreting in schools
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for a middle school DHH program
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers in educational settings
- Interpret classroom lessons, school assemblies, and other activities as needed
- Support students social and educational development through consistent, professional interpretation
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions
- Conduct ongoing self-evaluation and participate in opportunities for professional growth
