Step into a rewarding school-based role assisting students from preschool through high school with a variety of speech and language needs. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide support within a small, close-knit districtall locations conveniently situated within just three miles of each other and serving fewer than 1,000 students. Youll enjoy manageable caseloads, with 60 students from PK-12th grade experiencing mild to moderate disabilities and a broad range of therapy needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate Degree in Speech and Communicative Disorders
- Active Alabama SLP license and SLP Teaching Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Preference for ASHA CCC-SLP credentials; Clinical Fellows (CFY) will be considered
- Previous school-based experience valued, but not required
- Open to out-of-state SLPs able to secure AL certification
- Willingness to travel locally among three nearby school sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to a diverse caseload of up to 60 students
- Provide case management and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student success
- Adapt therapy approaches to address mild to moderate disabilities
- Maintain accurate and timely student documentation
