Job Description
An exciting opportunity awaits for a school-based Speech Language Pathologist to support elementary students in a supportive, collaborative environment near Machesney Park, IL for the upcoming school year. This full-time contracted position follows a standard school schedule, with priority given to your flexibility in setting hours within the school day. Both experienced SLP-CCC professionals and recent graduates (CFYs) are encouraged to apply, as comprehensive supervision and orientation are provided. Immediate start is available, featuring a manageable caseload and a single school site.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders
- Illinois SLP license (or eligible)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
- Experience or comfort working with students in both general and special education, including those with ASD
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to manage a caseload of 3540 elementary students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for elementary students
- Provide direct and consultative services in both general and special education settings
- Document progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists
- Attend required orientation and participate in ongoing professional development
