Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated Speech-Language Pathologist seeking a contract role working with middle and high school students in a dynamic educational setting near Mentor, OH. This assignment splits your expertise between two unique campuses: a specialized high school primarily serving students with emotional disturbances (grades 8-12), and a STEM-focused school (grades 6-12). The position runs from August 24th through May 31st, allowing you to shape student progress throughout the academic year.
Enjoy the convenience and balance of approximately 15 hours per week, with responsibilities concentrated during one 7-hour day at each site. Your clinical and collaborative skills will be integral to supporting student communication growth and contributing to inclusive, forward-thinking school environments.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Active Ohio SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) welcome
- Experience in educational settings or working with pediatric populations preferred
- Familiarity with supporting students with emotional disturbances is highly valued
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders for students 6th12th grade
- Develop and implement customized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain timely, accurate records and participate in case conferences
- Foster an encouraging and supportive environment for students with diverse needs
