Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY) eligibility
- Current or eligible for North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA) license
- Proficient knowledge of childhood speech/hearing development, communication disorders, and effective treatment modalities
- Strong understanding of school-based laws and regulations impacting service delivery
- Ability to foster positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screening, assessment, and diagnostics for speech, language, and hearing concerns
- Maintain thorough, confidential student records and provide periodic program reports
- Collaborate with educators and parents for effective intervention planning
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to individuals and groups
- Continuously analyze student progress and modify strategies as needed
- Offer guidance and support regarding speech, language, and hearing programs
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere for student success
- Assist with safe physical management of students and participate in school safety drills when necessary
- Travel between school sites as required
This is a 10-month contract role, following the NC Speech Language Pathologist Salary Schedule, providing a meaningful chance to foster student growth and communicative competence.
