Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position is located near Amelia Court House, VA, and is dedicated to working with 9th through 12th-grade students in a fully onsite setting. You'll collaborate with school staff and families, implement individualized learning strategies, and make a meaningful difference in students education.

Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Special Education (SPED) Certification required
- Background in teaching or supporting high school students preferred
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction and classroom management for high school students with special needs
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Maintain thorough, up-to-date documentation
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment supporting students social and emotional growth
- Participate in professional development and contribute positively to school culture
This contract role runs from August 2026 through May 2027, working 37.5 hours weekly across five days.
