Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a High School Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. Located near Bennington, NE, this position begins August 10, 2026, and runs through either December 18, 2026, or May 25, 2027, offering flexibility for those seeking a single semester or full academic year experience.
Youll work with a manageable caseload of 20-25 students, supporting their academic development and helping them thrive in a high school environment. Typical daily responsibilities include resource room teaching, managing paperwork, facilitating resource study halls, and co-teaching with general education staff as needed.
Your role will help bridge learning gaps and empower students to achieve their goals in an inclusive educational setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification relevant to high school level
- Experience with resource room services and co-teaching highly preferred
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related paperwork
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credentials a plus, especially for supporting students with medical needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience in school-based environments is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in resource settings and co-taught classrooms
- Maintain accurate student records and complete special education documentation
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, families, and service providers
- Supervise and assist during study halls to support student learning
- Participate in IEP meetings and progress reporting as required
