Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Valid LBS1 certification required
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in self-contained or inclusive settings
  • Strong background in teaching math at the middle school level
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs, adapting instruction to diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a knack for building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Professional, resourceful, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction in math and other relevant subjects to students in a self-contained setting
  • Develop, update, and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and challenges
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student progress and inclusion
  • Employ evidence-based teaching methods and classroom management techniques
  • Track and document student growth, maintaining accurate records and data for ongoing progress monitoring
  • Contribute to a positive school culture that values diversity, inclusion, and student achievement
