Step into an impactful contract role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in the Cottondale, AL area for the upcoming academic year. Beginning August 10, 2026, and running through May 26, 2027, this full-time opportunity offers diverse placements across PreK through 12th grade. Openings are available for PreK classrooms, self-contained Kindergarten through 2nd grade, middle school resource positions, and as a Gifted Specialist. More details about each opening will be provided during the interview process.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Valid Alabama Special Education Teacher Certification
- Experience or genuine interest in working with students with diverse abilities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual needs
- Passion for fostering an inclusive classroom environment
- Organizational skills to manage IEPs, assessments, and classroom documentation
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality, individualized instruction
- Collaborating with colleagues, specialists, and families to support student growth
- Developing and implementing effective IEPs
- Monitoring and documenting student progress
- Creating a supportive, engaging learning environment
- Participating in ongoing professional development and team meetings
