Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current, valid Special Education Teacher license for the state of Michigan
- Experience in middle and/or high school special education settings preferred
- Strong skills in IEP development, progress monitoring, and instructional adaptation
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Organization and flexibility to manage a varied caseload of 7th-12th grade students
- Preparedness to commit to the full 2026-2027 academic year
- Openness to working in a contract, travel-friendly environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional strategies and resources in alignment with individual education plans (IEPs)
- Develop, write, and implement accommodations to address diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with fellow special education staff, general education teachers, and support personnel
- Track student progress, update documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment for all learners
- Maintain clear communication with families and guardians regarding student goals and achievements
