Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year in the beautiful mountain community near Eagle, CO. Two contract opportunities are available, serving unique age groups and offering the chance to support both early learners and middle school students in an inclusive, collaborative environment.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience working with early childhood or middle school students, depending on assignment
- Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere
- Adaptability to work across multiple sites, if necessary
- Dedication to driving student growth and well-being
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for students with diverse needs
- Assess academic and social progress, modifying instruction as required
- Collaborate with related services staff and classroom teachers to facilitate inclusion
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for IEPs and student progress
- Communicate regularly with families to address students needs and celebrate achievements
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
Position Details:
- Early Childhood (PreK): Full-time, 40 hours/week, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM, August 2026 May 2027, serving 10-20 young learners at multiple district locations based on expertise
- Middle School (Grades 6-8): Full-time, 40 hours/week, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM, August 2026 May 2027, supporting 22 students at the middle school; in-person preferred, may consider virtual for the right candidate
Pay is $82.58 per hour, offering competitive compensation for your expertise.
