Special Education Teacher (Middle School 68)  ProCare Therapy

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a charter school in Gary, Indiana for the upcoming school year. This position supports students in grades 68 and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a critical stage of academic and personal development.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide specialized instruction and academic interventions
• Support students in inclusion, resource, and small-group settings
• Collaborate with general education teachers through co-teaching and consultation
• Monitor student progress and maintain compliance documentation
• Conduct case conferences and communicate regularly with families
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and classroom supports
• Foster organization, self-advocacy, study skills, and executive functioning development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Active Indiana Special Education Teaching License (Mild Intervention or applicable SPED endorsement)
• Knowledge of IDEA regulations and IEP compliance requirements
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Previous school-based experience preferred
