Job Overview: 

  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instructional services for students with diverse learning needs during the full 20262027 academic year. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive learning environment, implement individualized education programs (IEPs), and collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student success. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Description/Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor student IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, therapists, and support staff.
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate individual learning needs.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and classroom management strategies as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.05 to $48.05. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
