Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement required
• Experience teaching math at the middle school level strongly preferred
• Background working in self-contained special education settings
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and families
• Commitment to creating an engaging and supportive classroom atmosphere
• Solid understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead educator in a middle school self-contained classroom, primarily delivering math instruction
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring legal compliance and meaningful progress for each student
• Collect and analyze student data to track academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with school staff, support personnel, and families to create a wraparound support system
• Foster a positive classroom climate that encourages student participation, independence, and confidence
• Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in special education
