Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Valid credential or certification for special education teaching
  • Experience designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Confidence supporting students with a range of learning, behavioral, and physical challenges
  • Strong communication abilities to partner effectively with staff, parents, and service providers
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and developing differentiated instruction strategies
  • Commitment to professional growth, ongoing learning, and maintaining compliance with state and federal policies

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute effective, individualized lesson plans that align with IEP goals
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, adapting interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and families to ensure student needs are met
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records as required by law and policy
  • Provide guidance and support for classroom aides or paraprofessionals
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and relevant staff development
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for every student
