Job Description
Make a meaningful difference for students with visual impairments as an educator dedicated to specialized instruction in a dynamic and collaborative school environment near Towson, MD. This contract opportunity begins August 31, 2026, and offers the chance to work alongside an established team of five Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) and one Orientation & Mobility Specialist.
Youll provide services as specified in students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), traveling to clusters of schools to support learners who are visually impaired. Your expertise will help students access curriculum and reach their full potential.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Compliance with all state and local credentialing requirements for visual impairment educators
- Expertise in assessing and implementing appropriate instructional adaptations
- Ability to collaborate with other TVIs, related service providers, and special educators
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and visual impairment services in accordance with each students IEP
- Travel between assigned schools to provide direct and consultative services
- Collaborate with families, school staff, and fellow TVIs to support every childs unique needs
- Assist in the development and implementation of instructional strategies and accommodations
- Complete required documentation and student progress reports in a timely manner
This position offers:
- Pay rate of $35-40 per hour, paid weekly
- 37.5 hours per week, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule
