What youll need to succeed:
- Certification or substantial experience in Assistive Technology
- Current RN license with legal nurse consulting or school-based nursing experience preferred
- Strong understanding of assistive devices, adaptive hardware/software, and their educational applications
- Experience collaborating with educators, therapists, and families
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of special education law and student accommodation best practices
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate student needs to recommend and implement appropriate assistive technology solutions
- Train and support staff and students in using technology and adaptive tools
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering clinical and technical expertise
- Document interventions and ensure legal compliance in all processes
- Consult on health-related educational accommodations and risk management
- Stay current on trends in assistive technology and legal nursing practice
