Empower students of all abilities to thrive through movement as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. This contract opportunity spans from August to June, providing you the chance to make a meaningful impact in an itinerant, on-site role within a dynamic educational community.
Your expertise will help shape accessible and engaging physical education experiences for students across different school sites. In this full-time, 35-hour-per-week position, youll collaborate with staff, support IEP goals, and inspire students to build both physical confidence and lifelong healthy habits.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and valid California teaching credential specific to Adaptive Physical Education
- Experience delivering APE services within a K-12 public school setting
- Strong organizational skills for managing itinerant assignments across multiple campuses
- Commitment to inclusive practices and individualized student support
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Confident with IEP processes, documentation, and compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored physical education instruction that meets individual student needs
- Travel between designated school sites as an itinerant APE teacher
- Develop, monitor, and adjust lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Assess student progress and maintain clear documentation
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student assessments as required
