Make a meaningful impact by providing adaptive physical education to students with diverse needs in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. This on-site contract opportunity extends from August 11, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and offers a chance to work itinerantly with a range of student populations. You'll help empower learners by fostering physical growth and promoting a love of movement in an inclusive school setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid California teaching credential in Adaptive Physical Education required
- Experience implementing individualized physical education plans for students with disabilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic about creating engaging, adapted physical activities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver adaptive physical education instruction to students across multiple sites within the district
- Assess and develop individualized education program (IEP) goals tailored to each students abilities
- Use creative strategies to motivate and support students physical participation and progress
- Maintain up-to-date lesson plans and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Consult with classroom staff to integrate adapted activities and share best practices
- Travel between assigned schools as needed (itinerant position)
