Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling preferred
- Valid State Counselor License (LPC, LCSW, LMSW, or LAC)
- Previous experience as a school-based counselor or social worker desirable
- Ability to manage a diverse K-12 caseload and build rapport with students of all ages
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and peers
- Commitment to ethical and culturally responsive practices
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to support student growth and emotional wellbeing
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention strategies for students facing academic, behavioral, or social barriers
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized plans
- Assist with crisis intervention and create safe, supportive learning spaces
- Maintain required documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Advocate for student needs and connect families with community resources
