Make a meaningful impact supporting students emotional and behavioral wellbeing in a dynamic K-12 environment. This contract opportunity calls for two skilled mental health professionals to serve as itinerant counselors, providing vital services across multiple school sites.
In the Inspire Program Counselor role, youll work primarily with emotionally disturbed (ED) classrooms, supporting approximately 32 students across four classes at two schools. Your focus will be on trauma-informed counseling, crisis intervention, and maintaining thorough documentation. Experience working with high-needs populations and an ability to manage complex student needs will be highly valued.
As the Tier 2 Counselor, youll collaborate closely with the behavior team to provide responsive, evidence-based counseling. You will play a key role in identifying students who require intensified supports and in facilitating evaluations and Tier 2 interventions. Your understanding of trauma, meticulous organization, and professional communication with school staff will help create a safe, supportive environment for every student.
What we're seeking:
- Licensure as a School Counselor, Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or related certification
- Strong experience counseling students impacted by trauma in school settings
- Documented ability managing confidential student records and intervention logs
- Background in educational evaluations, crisis planning, and participation in IEP/staffing meetings
- Flexibility to work itinerantly across multiple campuses within the district
- Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and willingness to attend district trainings
