As an integral part of the schools Health Office, youll provide essential general support to students and staff, while also playing a critical role in monitoring and assisting students with seizure protocols. Youll have the opportunity to foster a nurturing environment that ensures every child gains access to education in a safe, healthy setting.
Ideal candidates will bring the following skills and experience:
- Valid LPN or LVN license in California
- Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting strongly preferred
- Proven competence in seizure management and health monitoring
- Effective communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to support students with diverse backgrounds and medical needs
- Calm, compassionate approach under pressure
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily Health Office operations during the 26 PM shift (including minimum day schedule from 11:39 AM6 PM as needed)
- Providing general nursing support to students and staff
- Monitoring, documenting, and responding to seizure activity per individual healthcare plans
- Communicating with teachers, staff, and families regarding student needs
- Maintaining accurate, confidential health records
- Promoting healthy habits and a supportive environment for all
