Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of California
  • Experience working with school-age children, especially in a school environment
  • Strong knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Program) process and documentation
  • Skill in performing assessments, delivering therapy, and developing functional, age-appropriate goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with educators, parents, and support staff
  • Flexibility to respond to evolving student needs and adjust intervention strategies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students referred for occupational therapy and participate in the development of IEPs
  • Design and implement tailored interventions that enhance students fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence at school
  • Consult regularly with teachers and staff regarding student progress and adaptive strategies
  • Document sessions, maintain thorough records, and ensure timely reporting for each student
  • Provide guidance and training to educational staff and families on supporting student development
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, student-centered atmosphere
