Job Description
Make a positive impact supporting students growth this school year as a paraprofessional! Two contract positions are currently available working in either an emotional support middle school classroom or a life skills high school setting. Roles are ideal for compassionate professionals ready to help students succeed both academically and socially.
Positions run for the full 202627 academic year, working 3537.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Caseloads will be assigned based on individual strengths and experience.
Desired Background & Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting
- Familiarity with supporting students with emotional or behavioral challenges, or experience in life skills programs
- Completion of paraprofessional certification, 48+ college credits, or an associate degree (if not yet certified, willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire is required)
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and related service providers to create a positive classroom environment
- Skilled in providing individualized or small group support as directed
- Responsive, patient, and communicative approach when working with students
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional support and classroom management
- Provide hands-on help to students, both individually and in groups, based on their educational and behavioral needs
- Support students with activities of daily living, social skills, and emotional regulation as needed
- Document progress and maintain communication with staff and supervisors
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all
