Make a real difference in a young childs journey to school success as an in-home paraprofessional. We're seeking a dedicated individual to work with a kindergarten student for 1 hour per day, helping to lay the foundation for a positive transition into the classroom environment. This contract role is located near Tacoma, WA, and offers the opportunity to work closely with both the student and their family.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in a paraprofessional role, especially supporting early learners
- Familiarity with techniques to build school readiness skills (such as basic literacy, following routines, social interactions)
- Patience, compassion, and strong communication abilities for working with young children
- Ability to collaborate with caregivers and adapt approaches to individual needs
- Reliable transportation to provide in-home support near Tacoma, WA
- Background check and relevant clearances as required for working with minors
Role Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one with a kindergarten-aged child in their home to foster essential preparation for entering school
- Create a welcoming and structured learning environment to nurture basic academic and social skills
- Implement tailored activities and routines to support the child's growth, confidence, and independence
- Monitor progress and communicate with parents or guardians regarding milestones and areas for further development
- Maintain a consistent, positive presence for the student during scheduled sessions
