Job Description
Support students in a meaningful way as a 1:1 Paraprofessional in a school environment near York, PA. This contract role offers the chance to make a genuine difference, working closely with students to provide individualized assistance and encouragement throughout the school day.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting
- Previous 1:1 support experience with students is highly valued
- Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) or teacher directions
- Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in education is a plus
- Reliable and punctual, with a professional and caring demeanor
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-on-one support to assigned student throughout the school day
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and daily living tasks as needed
- Offer encouragement and engagement to promote student participation
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to ensure student goals are met
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
