Youll oversee five school sitesfour elementary and one early childhood centerworking closely with teams at each location. Each school is staffed with a health office RN and a health clerk, ensuring robust support and effective collaboration. As part of a dedicated group of three Certified School Nurses (CSNs) in the district, your expertise will help shape students health outcomes and foster safe, inclusive learning spaces.
What were looking for:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential (required)
- Experience in pediatric, school, or community health settings
- Strong clinical assessment, care coordination, and communication skills
- Familiarity with individualized healthcare plans, IEP/504 meetings, and special education assessments
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and supporting colleagues
In this role, youll:
- Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students as needed
- Develop, implement, and monitor student medical care plans
- Supervise and mentor site-based school nurses and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings, initial evaluations, and re-evaluations
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure meticulous data entry in student management systems
