This is a unique contract role supporting an elementary-aged student in a school environment near Fort Worth, TX. As the dedicated Registered Nurse, you'll make a true difference each day by providing one-on-one care during school hours and serving as a critical companion on the students bus route to and from home.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Prior experience working in a school setting, preferably with K-5 students
- Demonstrated skills working with students who require complex medical care
- Required expertise and certification in tracheostomy care (trach trained)
- Compassion, strong communication abilities, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment
- Commitment to supporting student health, learning, and safety consistently
Core responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess the health needs of a designated elementary student throughout each school day
- Deliver attentive, individualized tracheostomy care and assist with other medical requirements as needed
- Ride the bus to and from the students home to ensure the childs safety and wellbeing during transit
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and school administration on best health practices
- Maintain up-to-date health records and detailed documentation of daily activities and interventions
- Quickly respond to any health emergencies or changes in the student's condition
