This rewarding contract role focuses on providing skilled one-on-one care to a student from kindergarten through fifth grade, both in school and during transportation to and from home. Your expertise, especially with tracheostomy care, will play a crucial role in the students well-being and educational success.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Proven experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Current trach care training and competency
- Ability to provide compassionate, individualized care in both classroom and bus environments
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to confidentiality, safety, and best practices in student healthcare
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and medical support for an elementary student throughout the school day
- Ride the school bus with the student to and from their home, ensuring safety and ongoing care
- Administer medication and monitor the students health status as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and the students family to support educational needs and overall well-being
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation as required by school policies
- Respond effectively to health emergencies and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
