Make a meaningful impact as a contract Registered Nurse working with students in a collaborative school setting near San Jose, CA. This position covers a temporary leave from November 30, 2026, to January 12, 2027with the possibility of extension depending on the current nurses plans. The role follows a family-friendly schedule of roughly 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and offers variety, as youll travel between school sites during the week based on student needs.
Youll support students health, contribute to individualized care plans, and work closely with educators and families. This is an opportunity to bring your clinical expertise into a dynamic environment where your contributions will make a daily difference.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Recent experience in a school, pediatric, or community setting is highly valued
- Comfortable traveling between campuses during the week
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Audiometry certification is a plus, enabling you to perform hearing tests for IEPs, though not mandatory
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and respond to student health concerns
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Participate in IEP meetings and support health components of student plans
- Maintain accurate health records and comply with state/school health protocols
- Collaborate with staff, families, and outside providers to promote student well-being
- Perform hearing screenings if certified in audiometry
