Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a school psychologist in the Kansas City, KS area. In this vital position, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students with significant needs, including those who are non-verbal, physically impaired, or utilize assistive technology devices for communication. This in-person role involves conducting detailed assessments and collaborating with a district committed to inclusive education.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a school psychologist (eligibility in Kansas required)
- Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with intense or complex disabilities
- Skilled in administering assessments and interpreting results for a range of abilities, including non-verbal communication and use of assistive technology
- Strong interpersonal, consultative, and communication skills for effective team collaboration
- Flexibility to travel between multiple district sites as needed
- Ability to create supportive, accessible environments that foster student growth
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments for students across multiple campuses
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Participate in eligibility and evaluation meetings, offering expertise in complex cases
- Partner with educators, related service providers, and families to advocate for student needs
- Provide recommendations and strategies for interventions, accommodations, and access to assistive technology
- Maintain thorough records and uphold confidentiality standards
