Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), with strong interpreting skills.
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in school settings, is preferred.
• Hold an EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.0 or higher.
• Applied for, or hold, an active PEL (Professional Educator License) for interpreting in Illinois schools.
• Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and support professionals.
• Patient, compassionate, and adaptable, especially when supporting students with unique learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpreting services for one elementary student in a self-contained classroom.
• Facilitate clear communication between the student, peers, and educational staff.
