A contract Social Worker is needed for a public school serving grades 612, located on the west side of Albuquerque. This assignment runs from now through May 27th and offers an opportunity to help shape lives and respond to both ongoing and emergent student needs.
In this role, you'll enjoy a manageable caseload, working with 16 IEP students while addressing broader social and emotional needs as they arise within a small school community of about 325 students. You'll be a vital part of the student support team, fostering positive outcomes and helping learners achieve their full potential.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Social Worker license in New Mexico
- Previous experience in school-based or healthcare settings preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to respond effectively to immediate student needs and collaborate with staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and support for students with IEPs
- Address urgent social, emotional, or behavioral concerns as they arise
- Lead and participate in student support and IEP meetings
- Liaise between students, teachers, and families to support positive educational outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards
