Job Description

Support the emotional and behavioral well-being of students in an engaging, school-based environment as a Mental Health Specialist for the 2025/2026 academic year. This contract opportunity focuses on providing essential social-emotional support to general education students both individually and in groups. You will also collaborate with classroom staff to implement positive behavior programs and offer professional learning to strengthen the support systems within elementary and high school settings.

In this role, youll make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents by helping them develop resilience, coping skills, and a positive school experience. Desired Qualifications:

• Masters degree (required for all applicants)
• Possession of an active LARA license (see Michigan licensing requirements)
• Accepted backgrounds:
  • Licensed Masters Level Psychologist or School Psychologist (or limited license with proper supervision)
  • Licensed Masters Level Social Worker or School Social Worker (or limited license with proper supervision)
  • Licensed Masters Level Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Counselor (or limited license with proper supervision)
  • School Counselor License (SCL), Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor (NT) endorsement, PSCC, or TSCL (with LARA eligibility within 24 months)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social-emotional support to K12 students
• Facilitate group and individual interventions to promote student mental health
• Support classrooms and schools through behavior program implementation and professional learning sessions
