Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in education by providing social work expertise to young learners, ages 3 to 5, in a supportive school environment. This full-time, in-person contract position offers you the opportunity to work closely with children, families, and educational staff on a leave coverage assignment. Starting November 11, 2026, and continuing through February 11, 2027, youll work 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am 3:45 pm), with a 30-minute duty-free lunch.

What Youll Need:

  • Valid state licensure or certification in social work, with school social work endorsement required
  • Experience or specialized knowledge working with early childhood populations, particularly ages 35
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, family engagement, and multi-disciplinary team collaboration in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Availability for full-time, onsite work throughout the duration of the assignment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect social work services for children within early childhood programs, supporting both individual student needs and group initiatives
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, develop and implement IEPs, and maintain compliant documentation
  • Engage families and connect them with outside resources as appropriate
  • Consult with staff regarding behavioral and social-emotional strategies to foster positive student outcomes
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed and support student transitions within the school environment
