Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays by serving in an onsite, classroom-based special education setting. This contract opportunity runs from late August 2026 through early June 2027 and is perfect for educators who are passionate about providing individualized support within a collaborative elementary school environment. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with standard school day hours.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Experience working with students diagnosed with developmental and cognitive delays (DCD), preferably at the elementary level
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and tracking
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Willingness to complete contract requirements onsite and meet district guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead instructor within the DCD Centerbase program, creating a nurturing, structured environment tailored to diverse learning needs
- Develop and deliver specialized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Provide direct instruction, behavioral supports, and daily care as needed
- Engage and collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education teachers
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required reporting
- Communicate regularly with families to support student growth and program engagement
- Participate in professional development sessions and school meetings
