Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in a specialized classroom setting, working with young learners in a life skills program. This contract opportunity focuses on providing high-quality education and support for PreK through 3rd grade students in a dedicated environment. You'll collaborate with a strong support team, including 1:1 paraeducators, a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and ongoing BCBA guidance. The classroom uses discrete trial instruction to help each student achieve measurable growth.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher Certification in Connecticut
• Experience teaching or supporting PreK-3rd grade students
• Background working in life skills or self-contained classrooms preferred
• Strong ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Comfortable collaborating with a diverse multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction tailored to each students unique needs
• Collaborate daily with paraeducators, RBT, and BCBA for effective interventions
• Develop, implement, and track progress toward IEP goals
• Employ discrete trial teaching and other evidence-based practices
• Foster a supportive, structured, and positive classroom atmosphere
• Maintain timely documentation on student performance and behavior
• Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and related service providers
