Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners in a specialized PreK-3rd grade environment near Bridgeport, CT. You'll be leading a life skills-focused classroom, guiding a small caseload of six students through individualized instruction using discrete trial teaching. Your active Connecticut Special Education Teacher certification is required, along with the compassion, creativity, and classroom management skills needed to nurture every students unique journey. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2027, offering stability, meaningful impact, and a consistent schedule of 32.5 hours across five days each week.

Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification in Connecticut (required)
• Experience working with students in PreK-3rd grade, preferably in life skills or special education settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Understanding of discrete trial instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and provide specialized instruction for a caseload of six students with life skills needs
• Implement discrete trial methodologies and adapt curriculum
• Collaborate closely with paraeducators, RBT, and BCBA for optimal student interventions
• Maintain detailed documentation and progress monitoring for each student
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and support specialists
