Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community near Canton, MI. We are seeking four skilled educators to provide vital services across a variety of settings, including Elementary Resource, Secondary Resource, Secondary ASD classrooms, and Elementary TI rooms, ensuring a meaningful impact on learners with diverse needs.
Your expertise will be pivotal in fostering academic growth, delivering individualized instruction, and collaborating closely with staff, students, and families. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position offers an engaging environment to sharpen your skills and contribute to student success.
Ideal candidates will have:
Valid, active teaching certification in Special Education (no emergency certifications accepted)
Demonstrated classroom experience in resource or self-contained special education settings
Experience working with elementary or secondary-age students, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Transition Impairment (preferred)
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Familiarity with IEP processes and differentiated instructional methods
Primary responsibilities include:
Delivering direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications in resource or classroom settings
Maintaining and updating IEPs, progress notes, and educational records
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to assess student needs and monitor progress
Providing academic and behavioral support to foster student growth and independence
Engaging with parents and caregivers to support ongoing learning
