Job Description

Experienced Special Education Teachers are needed for contract opportunities serving students in either elementary or high school settings near Harwood, TX. This position is ideal for passionate educators who thrive in inclusion or life skills classrooms, and who are eager to provide meaningful support to students with diverse learning needs.

This role begins August 12th, 2026, and continues through May 27th, 2027. You can expect a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, offering between 3537.5 hours each week. Your caseload will be tailored according to your experience and student needs, encompassing either elementary or high school age groups.

Qualifications:

  • Current Texas Special Education Teaching Certification is required
  • Prior experience in inclusion or life skills settings highly desirable
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support a variety of student learning styles and needs

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated instruction to students receiving special education services
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with school teams and families
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment focused on achievement and social-emotional growth
  • Monitor, document, and communicate student progress toward IEP goals
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with related service providers
