Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a certified Special Educator supporting a dynamic group of 5th grade students. This contract opportunity runs from August 31 through December break and centers on helping approximately 12 students with challenges in reading, math, and executive functioning. Youll benefit from a collaborative environment, working closely with the general education team to tailor instruction and provide small group interventions.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Special Education Teacher certification required
  • Experience working with upper elementary students preferred
  • Skilled in delivering differentiated instruction to students with diverse learning needs, especially in reading and math
  • Familiarity with strategies to support executive functioning development
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted instruction to small groups of 5th grade students based on individual education plans
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional methods to address reading and mathematics deficits
  • Implement hands-on and engaging activities to reinforce executive functioning
  • Collaborate daily with grade-level classroom teachers to ensure unified educational support
  • Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in team meetings
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom climate

Role Details & Schedule:

  • School hours: 7:55 a.m. 3:25 p.m.
  • Direct services occur between 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.
  • Contract runs from late August through December break
